Introduction
This help page is a work in progress. Through a combination of explanatory text and audio demonstrations, we want to make it as easy as possible for you to get the most out of Team Talk and be blessed by all that ICC has to offer. Please Contact Us if you require additional assistance or have comments or suggestions.
The following information will get you started with Team Talk which is one of two aps that members of the Interactive Christian Community use to attend programs and engage in fellowship. Team Talk is available for Windows, macOS, several flavors of Linux, iOS and Android. The first section pertains to Team talk for Windows, the second focuses on Team Talk for iOS and the third contains basic configuration information for using Team Talk on other platforms. Team Talk for Windows
Downloading and Installing Team Talk for Windows Using a Screen Reader
The following instructions can be used to download and install TeamTalk for the first time, or to upgrade your version of TeamTalk.
- If you have not already done so, please Download Team Talk for Windows
- Navigate to the file downloaded in the previous step which will likely be in your Downloads folder, and press enter to launch the installer.
- You should hear something like "set up Team Talk 5, please read the following license agreement"
- Read through the agreement just as you would any other document
- Press tab and you should hear something like "I do not accept the agreement, radio button checked"
- Press left arrow to select the I accept the agreement radio button
- Tab to and press space on the Next button
- You should hear something like "select the components you want to install, clear the components you do not want to install, click next when you are ready to continue"
- Focus should be on a combobox which contains 2 options, TeamTalk 5 Client which is the default, and TeamTalk 5 Client & Server
- Tab to and press space on the Next button
- You should hear something like "create a desktop shortcut, not checked"
- If you would like a shortcut to TeamTalk on your desktop, press space
- Press tab and you should hear something like "create a Quick Launch shortcut, not checked"
- If you would like a TeamTalk Quick Launch shortcut, press space
- Tab to and press space on the Next button after which you will not hear anything
- Tab to and press space on the Install button
- Wait while Team Talk installs
- When the installation is complete, you should hear something like "launch TeamTalk, checked"
- Tab to and press space on the Finish button
- The Team Talk program will start, and you may be prompted to allow it through the Windows firewall
Attending a Program Via the Interactive Christian Community Website
Some of ICC's Team Talk programs are open, meaning that anyone can attend, while others are closed, meaning that only members of the community can attend. Please do the following to attend a program:
- Go to the Interactive Christian Community Home Page
- Find the link for the program you wish to attend and press enter. Note that the link will appear 15 minutes before the program is scheduled to start.
- One of two things will happen at this point:
- If the program is closed, you will be taken to the Member Login page on which you will:
- Type your email address in the Email address field
- Press tab
- Type your password in the Password field
- Press enter to be taken into the program
- If the program is open, you will be taken to the Attend Program page on which you will find and press enter on the Attend Program as a Guest button to be taken into the program
Attending a Program Using a TT File
EveryICC member is provided with a TT file as an email attachment during the registration process. Detach the file from the email and save it in a convenient location such as on your desktop. If your TT file gets lost or damaged, you can download it or email it to yourself via links on the ICC Member Menu.
Please do the following to attend a team talk program or engage in fellowship using your TT file:
- Navigate to your TT file and press enter
- Team talk will launch and focus will be on the Yes button of the Load TT file dialog
- Press space on the Yes button to be taken into the Interactive Christian Community Living Room
- Press down arrow until you hear the name of the channel the program is being held in and press enter. Note that channels can also be accessed by first letter navigation, for example, press p to navigate to the PrayerRoom, and press enter to join that channel.
Useful Keystrokes
Unlike Zoom, Team Talk is half-duplex meaning that only one person can talk at a time.
- Speak, press and hold the left control key, listen for a two- tone sound which indicates that others will be able to hear you, speak into your microphone and release the left control key when you are finished
- Test your microphone:
- Place focus on your name
- Press control-4 and you will hear "your name changed subscription voice to 1"
- Press and hold the left control key
- Speak into your microphone and you should hear your voice
- Release the left control key
- Press control-4 and you will hear "your name changed subscription voice to 0"

Basic Team Talk Configuration Information for Use On Other Platforms
The following basic Team Talk configuration information will be useful if you plan to use Team Talk on platforms other than Windows. You will also need your Team Talk user id and password.
